    • The coach helps the client determine find and validate their own answers and action plans, allowing the individual not to only solve immediate issues but also to develop the capacity to keep improving.

    • An example of how your coach could engage with you:

    • Agree on intent of session (specific, measurable, and achievable in time allotment).

    • Open-ended questions to understand challenge(s) being faced and your perspective.

    • Active inquiry to help you draw own insights and conclusions.

    • Lots of listening, you will be doing about 75% of the talking. The coach will ask permission before sharing any of their own observations or advice if they feel it is appropriate.

    • Wrap-up and summary of insights, specific action plans, and commitments made. Sharing of feedback to coach: what you found most valuable from the session. Celebrate progress.
